Is $2,440 to replace evaporator coil a fair price?
Project Details
I purchased my small, new construction house in August of 2018 in central Texas. In April, my AC was not cooling, and an HVAC company said the evaporator coil needed replacing. Now, the unit is not cooling again, and the same company says the compressor needs to be replaced. This seems unusual to me, as I've never had these issues so early in an AC unit's life. I'm wondering if something is wrong or if the evaporator coil replacement could have impacted the compressor. I also realized that a 3-ton evaporator coil was installed with my 2-ton AC unit. Additionally, I did not register the unit for warranty after closing.
