Is $1,800 to replace a failed inducer motor a fair price?

My Carrier Infinity furnace's inducer motor, which was replaced two years ago, has failed again. I've used the same HVAC contractor since the original installation and have my unit inspected and serviced twice yearly. The contractor is quoting $1800 for the replacement part. I believe the part should be covered under warranty for longer than one year and have asked the exclusive Carrier contractor to speak with their Carrier representative about goodwill for the part, offering to pay for diagnostic time and labor. This Infinity unit has been problematic for me in the 8 years I've owned the house, unlike the 6 Carrier Comfort 92 units in my office building which are 20+ years old and have had minimal issues without maintenance. A heat exchanger was also replaced last year. The contractor is also recommending wiring harnesses replacement.
