Is $7,000 to switch oil boiler to natural gas with a Carlin EZ Gas burner a fair price?
Project Details
I just purchased this house, which has a 2-year-old gas water heater and an 18-year-old Peerless oil boiler for heating. I prefer switching to natural gas primarily for convenience, as I don't want to deal with oil. I am in my 70s, so convenience is a priority. I'm not so sure if I care about efficiency as much as I care about not dealing with oil. A heat pump option was also considered but was out of my budget range at $24,000.
