Is $1,600 to replace a Carrier motor a fair price?

Project Details

My Carrier system needs a new motor. I'm truly blown away at the cost. I'm in Florida and it's in the 90's, and luckily I have a window AC unit for now. The motor needs to be ordered, and I gave them half down to order it. I just don't know what to do. It happened on a Friday afternoon, and to have other companies check it out, I would have to pay another service charge. I searched the internet for prices of Carrier motors, and the prices did vary, but I didn't want to go down the rabbit hole.
