Is $4,250 to remove a wood furnace and reconfigure HVAC ductwork a fair price?
Project Details
I want to get rid of a Big Jack wood furnace in my basement that was installed inline with my central ductwork for the first floor by the previous homeowners. We don't use it, and it kills the efficiency of my system with leaks, sucking up heat/AC before it can be distributed. I was surprised by the quoted price of $4250, as I was prepared for around $1500 max. I don't know much about sheet metal work and was just surprised at the price, so I wanted to get an idea if it was in line with what others would expect or seemed generally high.
