Is $4,000 to repair HVAC coolant leak a fair price?
Project Details
My HVAC system has lost all its coolant for the second year in a row. I'm frustrated because I'm facing a minimum of $4K for repairs again, and I don't know if it will happen again soon. The unit was purchased and installed in 2018 through a Costco contractor in San Diego and is a mid-tier Lennox HVAC. I'm debating whether to repair it again or replace it with a mini split heat pump system, which would service the three upstairs bedrooms and potentially two downstairs rooms, while keeping the main HVAC for downstairs. I want to get ahead of this before summer really kicks in.
