Is $6,500 to install a 2.5 ton AC and new furnace a fair price?
Project Details
My 25-year-old AC is about to fail. My house is 2500 square feet and gets a lot of sun. I'm unsure if I should stick with the current 2.5-ton unit or upgrade to a 3.0-ton unit, as my square footage seems to be outside the recommendation for a 2.5-ton unit. I'm also concerned if my ductwork can handle a larger unit. The master bedroom, which is the last room to get air, is consistently 5-7 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, and I'm wondering if a 3-ton unit would help with this issue.
