Is $1,200 to replace the circuit board on a Trane furnace a fair price?
Project Details
My Trane furnace, model TUH2C100A9V4VA, is 15 years old. I noticed that when I turned the fan on in the winter, the furnace would turn off. A technician performed a heating tune-up and discovered that the control board was not sending power to the inducer motor. Eventually, the contacts on the board closed, and the system started heating. The technician recommended replacing the control board. They also tried to sell me a new unit. I am asking if $1200 is a fair price for the board replacement.
