Is $1,800 to level attic air handler unit, add float switch, and clean out pan a fair price?
Project Details
My current unit is over 20 years old. When I moved in, I discovered a clogged drain causing a ceiling leak, which has since been fixed. I have a one-year home warranty from the seller, but I doubt it will cover a full replacement if the unit dies, especially given its age. My gut tells me to replace the unit now, as repairs might only be a temporary fix, and it could be cheaper in the long run. I also received another quote closer to $7k for a full replacement.
