Is $600 to purchase and install an OEM Carrier furnace blower motor a fair price?
Project Details
My furnace is a Carrier Model 59PHB045-10112. From my research, the OEM blower for this unit appears to be the Carrier HD42MQ130. The A/C technician quoted me $800 for the repair, but after watching a few instructional videos, the process doesn’t seem overly complicated—I feel confident I could handle it myself. While browsing Amazon, I also came across several blowers priced between $80 and $150 that match the OEM specs in terms of horsepower, voltage, RPM, and other parameters. That said, I’m not well-versed in HVAC systems, so I’m unsure whether using a non-OEM part with identical specs is a safe or reliable option. I’d really appreciate any advice or insight you might have.
