Is $1,300 to replace furnace inducer motor a fair price?

Project Details

I had Lee Company perform an annual inspection of my furnace. The technician recommended an inducer motor replacement due to a grinding sound. I found the quoted price of $1300 for just the motor replacement, not the entire assembly, to be outrageous, especially since research suggests replacing the entire assembly typically costs around $700. I am considering purchasing the assembly and replacing it myself, as I often fix things around the house, despite not having much HVAC experience. I am seeking advice on whether this is a feasible DIY project or if it's better left to professionals.

Quote Details
