Is $1,100 to replace furnace control board and tune system a fair price?

Project Details

My new Rheem AC unit, installed six months ago, has not performed to my satisfaction, with poor cooling performance. The original company that installed the outdoor unit and new air handler has been unhelpful, claiming that it's normal for the thermostat to rise 4-8 degrees above the set temperature. After a horrible week of cooling, with sweat and ice on the lines and air handler, and eventual failure of my furnace blower, I called a different company. They diagnosed the issue as a fried control board in the furnace, possibly due to condensation. My inclination is to go with a total furnace replacement due to frustration, even though the blower started working again after the diagnosis.

This option includes replacing the control board for the furnace blower and tuning the system. The diagnosis ruled out refrigerant issues, noting that the line set was not replaced when the AC was installed. The issue was attributed to condensation dripping down, potentially frying the control board.
