Is $7,000 to replace whole house ductwork a fair price?
Project Details
I recently had an AC installed, but it's not cooling efficiently, even though the AC installation itself appears to be good. The vendor suggested redoing the whole house ductwork because the insulation is in very bad condition, but I'm unsure if a full replacement is truly necessary. I also discovered that asbestos tape was used on the connections, which is a concern. I'm seeking advice on whether I should proceed with replacing the ductwork.

An alternative option of just re-insulating the existing ducts was discussed, but the vendor stated it would cost the same as a full replacement.
