Is $700 to replace a blower motor a fair price?
Project Details
My current 1/3 HP Broad Ocean blower motor is failing, specifically the end cap, causing it to power cycle a few times before starting. I am a broke student looking for a cheaper solution than replacing the entire motor. I'm considering replacing just the end cap, but the existing one is covered in resin. I'm hoping a similar end cap with the same voltage, HP, and wiring (even if the model number is slightly different) would work. I find it difficult to access the turbine of the wall mount air handler to remove the set screw. I'm not well aware of what these repairs should cost. I also asked if there is a capacitor inside the air handler.
