Is $1,622 to replace ECM blower motor and control board in air handler a fair price?

My AC/heatpump stopped working (outside unit and air handler). I had turned the unit off about 5 weeks ago, and it worked fine then. I am well versed in electrical (previously an electrician, now electrical engineering) and could potentially source parts myself, but I don't mind paying if the quote is reasonable. I find it weird that the blower motor and ECM failed while the unit was off.
