Is $3,500 to install chimney caps a fair price?
Project Details
I am constantly getting animals down into my fireplace and an old, no longer used furnace duct. I also get water in both, which makes it into the basement and fireplace when it rains heavily. My roof is way too steep for me to access safely, and an extension ladder seems unsafe for this type of work. Oddly, I seem to be the only house in my neighborhood that doesn't have any type of cap/guard for water and animals. It's been hard to get someone out who doesn't charge $100-$200 just to look.
