I have a 22-year-old Lennox 3.5 ton R22 system. I am switching to a heat pump with gas backup because my winter electricity rates are low ($0.051/kwh). I plan to stay in the house for a long time. I ultimately signed the proposal for the 2-stage Carrier option.
