Is $3,500 to find and fix a Freon leak in the AC coil a fair price?
Project Details
My AC has been struggling to reach the set temperature of 78°F, sometimes running for 12 hours straight. My floors flooded due to water leaking from the AC. I contacted my home warranty, and a second technician diagnosed a clog as the cause of the flooding, not a Freon leak, and did not inspect the outside unit. I'm unsure which diagnosis is correct, and I'm concerned about potential mold from the slow leak and flooding. The flood happened while the AC was running, and stopped when I turned the unit off. They are coming later this week to clean the clog.
