Is $1,200 to replace a high pressure switch a fair price?

Project Details

My AC went out, and the technician found that a faulty high pressure switch was the cause. I'm wondering if the quoted price seems reasonable and if there's anything I should be aware of. I'm also curious if it's possible to install the switch without draining the system, and if there are any disadvantages to that method.

This quote is for replacing a faulty high pressure switch in the AC system. The process involves: - Draining the existing refrigerant from the system - Soldering the new high pressure switch into place - Refilling the system with new refrigerant - Labor cost: $600 - Refrigerant cost: $600
