I just bought a new house, a metro Detroit bungalow, and the furnace is less than 10 years old. I'm replacing registers because some are painted shut. I have a history of very bad HVAC experiences in my previous house, which led to poor indoor air quality and health issues, and has made me distrustful of contractors. I want to ensure my new home is very safe and comfortable, and I need good indoor air quality. My dad wants me to use his independent contractor, whose prices are very low compared to my prior HVAC work. I'm wondering if the quote for the new AC unit is a good one.
