Is $1,000 to upgrade to a 4-inch Honeywell cabinet filter a fair price?
Project Details
I already have the Honeywell cabinet, as I wanted to ensure it matches the exact filters on my other unit. I'm questioning if $1,000 is a reasonable estimate for this work, especially since the unit is in the basement and has easy access. I'm currently using a Merv 8 pleated filter and changing it every two months for this furnace. My primary reasons for this upgrade are to standardize filter sizes across my two furnaces and to reduce the frequency of filter changes to every 6 months, which I anticipate will also save a little money on filter costs. I've also been watching videos and might consider trying this myself.
