Is $200 to remove an existing AC unit a fair price?
Project Details
I'm concerned about what appears to be mold on my AC unit. My family is giving me a hard time about replacing it because they spent $800 on the AC and installation six years ago. I have a used AC window unit, but my family doesn't want me to install it myself, as I live in the city and it's on the second floor, and they're afraid it might fall on someone. An HVAC guy told a family member that it would cost $200 to remove the unit and $400 to professionally clean it. He also said that 'all ACs have mold' and that I don't need to worry about it.
