Is $2,500 to clean mold from HVAC unit and install UV light a fair price?

I bought my first house in July, which is an older house. I'm not sure when the HVAC unit was installed. My wife had been wanting to get the ducts cleaned. I'm currently out of town for work. A company came out today and found mold in the unit. The gentleman seemed genuinely knowledgeable and concerned, but I got a scammer vibe when he pressured us with a higher price if he had to come back. I went ahead with the service for my wife's peace of mind, but I'm concerned if I got scammed or if the mold was a real threat to my family.
