Is $1,500 to replace a blower motor a fair price?
Project Details
My HVAC system is not blowing and is making a crazy loud sound. A technician diagnosed it as a bad blower motor and quoted $1500 for replacement. I am skeptical because I can spin the fan blades easily by hand, and I checked the capacitor, which is within specs (7.5 reading 7.5). The system is a 7-year-old Carrier. The tech is currently installing the new motor.
