Is $4,500 to add blown-in attic insulation a fair price?
Project Details
I recently purchased this home, which is in a cold climate (New Hampshire, Zone 5/6) with significant temperature and humidity variations. The attic currently has R-19 pink fiberglass insulation, which is insufficient. The attic has great ventilation. I'm leaning towards adding blown-in insulation and keeping the soffits open. The attic is only used for minor storage, like Christmas decorations, and does not contain HVAC or other major systems, only bathroom and stove vents. I am concerned about moisture or roof issues with spray foam and whether it's worth the higher cost.
