Is $4,000 to add attic insulation a fair price?
Project Details
I'm looking for unbiased opinions on these quotes for attic insulation. My 2013 home in Alabama currently has about 8" of cellulose insulation, and everyone is suggesting we increase it to 11.5". The quotes are based on my 3000 sq ft attic footprint, and all companies have inspected the attic in person. I'm concerned about the significant price difference between the lowest bid and the others, and whether the insulation brands (Greenfiber vs. Sanctuary by Applegate) explain this. I'm also wondering if Sanctuary by Applegate and Sanctuary by Greenfiber are the same product. My attic is difficult to access.
