Is $850 to install a roof vent a fair price?
Project Details
I had a big HVAC company come out to quote for more blown insulation in my attic. As part of the quote, the technician recommended adding a roof vent, stating that my house didn't have one because builders are cheap. I'm questioning if this is true, if roof vents are always beneficial, if there are negatives, and if they are likely to leak. My house is from the mid-90s, and it was a pretty high-end house, so I'm also wondering if it's common for houses from this period to lack such a vent.
