Is $800 to install a roof-mounted fan a fair price?
Project Details
I live in the northeast and have a 100-year-old house. I recently had old insulation removed and new R30 blown into the attic, along with attic air sealing. I believe the attic should be pretty well sealed once I add an attic ladder cover, and I'm wondering if it makes sense to get a roof-mounted fan given this.

This option includes the installation of a 30 watt solar attic fan in the roof deck of the attic space for active ventilation, temperature, and humidity control. A well-ventilated attic will maintain cooler, dry air, resulting in less use of the HVAC system and added comfort. The fan operates on both a thermostat and humidistat to properly regulate air quality during summer and winter months. This fan qualifies for a 26% federal tax credit as per IRS Form 5695 and comes with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. - Converts attic air flow from passive to active - Air Movement: 1550 CFM (multiple air exchanges per hour) - Benefits: Reduced attic temperature (increases efficiency of insulation for better home comfort), reduced attic moisture content (better mold and mildew control), regulating temperature and moisture leads to longer HVAC and roof life - Operation: Cost-effective, no added cost to operate, 100% natural energy from the sun
