Is $1,679 to add insulation to R-49 a fair price?
Project Details
I have existing issues with my soffits being blocked by frieze boards. Currently, I only have one gable vent (the other is blocked by a firewall in the garage) and one static vent. I was planning to drill several 2-inch holes, put screens over them, and then install vented soffit. The contractor suggested the solar powered vent as an alternative to this work. I have already air sealed and put baffles in. I will be proceeding with my original plan to address the soffit ventilation by replacing my gutters and fascia, then drilling holes. I also plan to get a ridge vent when I eventually replace my roof, despite the insulation guy's opinion on my roof pitch.
