Is $1,800 to install spray foam insulation in ceiling of room extension a fair price?
Project Details
My trailer has an extension that had no insulation in the ceiling when I bought it. The recommended R-level for ceilings in Delaware is R30, but the cavity in the extension is not deep enough to fit R30 insulation. I'm concerned about compressing insulation, as I've read it removes effectiveness. I'm looking for advice on whether compressing about 4 inches of R-30 fiberglass insulation with drywall would be okay without losing effectiveness, or if extending the joists is an option. I really want to make the room as heat/cool/energy efficient as possible.
