Is $1,000 to cut and repair drywall in kitchen a fair price?

I did a backsplash demo in my kitchen which tore up some drywall. I'd attempt it myself but I am currently wrapped up in a ton of other projects and am juggling a few projects in between long work weeks. This is something I am willing to pay for, I just want it to be a fair price.
