Is $80,000 to renovate main floor a fair price?

Project Details

I am doing a fairly big main floor renovation. I already gave a $10,000 deposit for design work and now they are asking for an additional $19,000 at the design meeting before a start date is even picked. I'm wondering if this payment schedule is typical.
