Is $16,000 to design and install a 10' x 10' walk-in closet system a fair price?
Project Details
I am having problems with Closet by Design's payment practices. They required a 25% deposit to take on the project, then 50% down before providing a copy of the design plans or an install date. When they arrived for the install, the installer advised that the entire $16,000 invoice had to be paid in full before they would even unload the material. As someone with 37 years as a municipal building inspector and 42 years designing buildings and construction, I find this highly unusual and unacceptable to pay 100% upfront without any material on site or work started. I am concerned about recourse if the work is not to my satisfaction. I would not recommend this company due to their greedy and selfish business practices.
