Is $5,000 to perform water remediation for toilet overflow a fair price?
Project Details
We had a leak yesterday due to an overflowing toilet on the top floor of our townhouse that went through to the main floor. It happened when cleaners were flushing the toilet while cleaning. We dried everything immediately as best we could and there’s no visible damage currently. I'm questioning if a full water restoration process is necessary for a one-time toilet overflow of clear water, especially since it would require going through homeowners insurance and paying our full $5k deductible. I'm looking for other professional services or alternatives, as the area affected is small, about 20 square feet, and it was only one tank load. I wish there was a menu of options to choose from, and we might try a handyman or DIY some stuff if we can't find a suitable solution.
