Is $800 to fix a patch of drywall a fair price?

Project Details

I got some electrical work done and was quoted $800 to fix a patch of drywall. I also paid $79 for them to come out and estimate the cost after cutting into the drywall. I'm wondering if this is something easy enough to do myself and what others would estimate for this type of job.
