Is $700 to remove a tree and leave the stump a fair price?
Project Details
I decided not to have the stump ground and will just leave it there, as I don't plan on ever growing anything in that spot. I was also concerned about potential electrical lines if they ground the stump. An arborist advised me that the roots would take 10-20 years to rot and shouldn't cause any issues with the foundation. I paid with cash and confirmed the contractor was insured up to $2 million. I feel like I got a good deal for my area, and being close to winter probably helped them find work. I had considered different methods for the tree removal, including contractors who would climb the tree versus one who proposed using a manlift and a rope and pulley system for larger chunks.
