Is $14,800 to repair dry rot in a crawlspace including sill plate and joists a fair price?
Project Details
I just got an estimate for dry rot repair on my house and I honestly can't tell if it's a fair price or if I'm getting hosed. The quote came in at $14,800 which feels like a lot but I also have no frame of reference for this kind of work. The contractor seems legitimate, CCB licensed, with good reviews, but $15k for wood repair in a crawlspace is making my eyes water. I want to be fair to the contractor because I know skilled labor isn't cheap but I also want to make sure I'm not the sucker paying double.
