Is $8,000 to correct sump pump plumbing and foundation discharge a fair price?

I have a fairly new home build (less than 3 years old) and a plumber noticed that multiple sump pumps were plumbed incorrectly and tied into the main drain line, which is against code. The homebuilder argues it is fine, but I have a 10-year craftsmanship warranty. I am concerned that if the builder fixes it, the work will be 'half-assed'.
