Is $3,800 to install a lawn irrigation system a fair price?

I'm worried about my landscaper destroying my septic system while using a trencher. I'm concerned about trenching near septic vents/caps and if the landscaper can safely go 12 inches deep near them. I'm also curious why there are so many vents in my yard. It's in a very dry hot area, and currently the lawn is nearly dead. It's just me and my partner, and we are only here half the year.
