Is $4,000 to replace a full section of cast-iron pipe a fair price?
Project Details
I have a pinhole leak coming from a cast-iron joint. I patched the leak with plumbers putty and a little Flex Seal. I am considering a full pipe replacement but am hoping a small section can be replaced instead of the entire section. I am also wondering if I could take this up with my home insurance if the pipes break, as a full replacement might cost around $10,000.
