Is $7,000 to replace gas line to pool/spa heater a fair price?

My current gas line to my pool/spa heater is eroding. I'm considering switching to an electric pool heater instead of replacing the gas line, as I believe an electric setup might be cheaper and my electric HVAC is nearby. I don't have much information on the existing underground gas line, which was installed two homeowners ago. The gas meter is 70-100ft away from the pool heater. I'm looking for advice on the pros and cons of electric heaters and whether electric could handle the low temperatures here (high 30s/low 40s) for spa use. I'm also wondering if I should keep calling other companies for more quotes on the gas line replacement.
