Is $549 to replace a Pentair Racer pool vacuum a fair price?

I inherited a pool with a Pentair Racer. I went in for parts at two different pool stores and they won't help due to it being discontinued by Pentair. It seems those in this reddit group also agree that the Racer is and was not the best. I am seeking recommendations for a replacement and wondering if Polaris and Pentair parts can mingle together.
