Is $13,000 to replace a pool liner a fair price?
Project Details
I bought my pool in April 2022 for $80,000 Canadian. The liner started fading heavily in 2024, particularly in sun-exposed areas. My husband diligently monitors chemical balance, and we have records of monthly testing at a local pool store, in addition to frequent home testing. This summer, the pool started leaking, and 12 holes were found, one due to a failing seam which was later rewelded. The original contractor denied responsibility, and the liner supplier rejected my warranty claim, attributing the issue to improper chemical balance. However, I believe the fading is due to sun exposure and a poor-quality liner, as the fading is not uniform and a neighbor with the exact same liner and equipment has no issues. If the warranty had been honored, it would have only covered 50% for the upcoming 'season 4'.
