Is $8,000 to replace inground pool liner a fair price?

This is my first time owning a house with a pool. I moved in about two and a half years ago, and the previous owner told me the liner was just replaced, but it looked old and faded when I moved in. The liner ripped over the winter during a freeze we had in Oklahoma. I didn't get to see the house until I moved here from another state, and the person who checked out the house didn't notice the liner's condition. The pool is currently shut down and winterized, so I can't do anything about it now. With other issues cropping up with the house, this isn't surprising. I can't tell if anything needs repairs under the liner, but I hope not. The liner was already faded when I got here, so it could have been old or just poorly maintained.
