Is $900 to paint roof flashing a fair price?
Project Details
My roof was recently redone with black shingles, replacing weather wood. The existing flashing was brown and was not replaced or addressed during the roof work. The roofer admitted forgetting to tell me that the flashing might be a different color. Their proposed solution is to paint the flashing. I was quoted $900 to paint about 40 linear feet of flashing. I think this price is very high, especially since they will already be sending people out for other items on the invoice. 40 linear feet is a relatively small area (I estimate about 20 sq ft), which means they are charging about $45/sq ft to paint, which seems ridiculous. I'm really frustrated by this situation, especially since the roofer admitted fault. It's weird because they are a known decent company with 30 years of operation.
