Is $7,500 to install asphalt shingles from gaf, oc, or certainteed a fair price?

I'm in the southwest parts of Ohio and have a steep roof pitch at around 18/12. I'm leaning towards metal because it should last a lifetime, but I'm wary of being one of the first in the state to install a specific metal shingle product.
