Is $2,000 to add chimney cricket a fair price?
Project Details
Getting roof repaired and they just added an extra $2k charge suddenly the day before saying I now need a chimney cricket installed because my chimney is wider than 30”. I looked online and I saw that the siding isn’t suppose to be included in chimney width, which (I think that’s siding on the edges??) and would make this under 30”. How would this measure to you? Under or over 30”? Any sources I can cite if it is under 30”? I’d appreciate it. I’m a new homeowner, and I’m trying to be knowledgeable as possible to avoid unnecessary repairs.
