Is $5,300 to replace soffit, fascia, and gutters with ridge vent installation a fair price?
Project Details
I am currently getting quotes for some rotten fascia/soffits along the front of my house. I have a single story/ranch style home built in the 50s with asphalt shingles. I have gable vents on each side of the house and soffit intake vents. My utility bills aren't insane and I don't feel like my house overheats in the summer or has inadequate heating in the winter. I am concerned about whether I need a ridge vent or box vent when I have gables on either side of the house, and if the first guy is trying to oversell me or if the second guy is correct about gables being sufficient. I'm also wondering what is considered 'to code' for ventilation.
