Is $13,000 to replace an 800 sqft EPDM flat garage roof a fair price?

We recently bought this house. I'm trying to decide if I should attempt this roof repair/replacement myself, given my background in mechanics and previous remodeling experience with friends. I'm getting more quotes because the first estimator seemed inexperienced. I'm open to creative solutions and potentially doing some of the non-technical work myself.
