Is $200 to clean and patch rusted and cracked chimney chase a fair price?
Project Details
I initially hired a chimney contractor to replace a crushed chimney cap, which I believe was damaged by heavy fumigation tents. During his inspection, he found and photographed rust on the chimney chase, including one spot with significant rust and a crack. I'm unsure about the proposed repair method and am looking for feedback on whether it's a legitimate temporary solution to buy me a couple of years to save for a new chimney chase.
